Red Hawks Total Spring Season 2012

Red Hawks Total Spring Season 2012

Hello Red Hawk Nation,

What a wonderful Spring season!  The Girls were great, and I know everyone would agree they were a lot of fun to watch.  Connie and I really enjoyed taking photos of the girls this season.  We started taking photos of the players after a request a few years back when we bought our first camera.  We were taking photos of our son, Caleb, and after a few parents saw the photos, we then started to get request to take shots of their children and even from other teams.  We do it as a second job now.  So to give you some info on how things work, we will give a you a brief description…

When Connie and I first started to sell the photos, we used Fotomoto, it was a good company.  We still use Fotomoto for our older photos taken before 2012, but we wanted more options with our photos.  That’s when we discovered Smugmug, they had everything we wanted to provide to the parents (from calendars to T-shirts) and we wanted to keep the cost as low as possible so we created a Pro account so we could manage the prices.  Smugmug is the best company for holding photos, It’s like a safe/vault and pretty much like an on-line back-up system.  We upload every photo you see to Smugmug and it takes some time, somewhere around 2 hours for 300 photos, but before we upload the photos, we have to process them and this is what takes up most of our time and work.  We crop almost every photo to bring the player as close as possible.  Here is an example of me cropping

Cropped Photo, the end result!

We try to focus on one player and that’s how we can separate the players by keywords.  This is the heart of our work and the second hardest part of the process.  After we crop and adjust the color we then go over every photo again to give it a personal identity for Smugmug.  Then we upload them to the server.

So what is Smugmug?  Smugmug is a Photographer’s dream, it’s a big company that handles everything with photo processing in the US and now Internationally.  They are integrated into Facebook and other social networks like Google plus.  Smugmug has a comment system for customers you can even comment on a single photo if you wish or share on Facebook which I encourage anyone to use.  I have bought my own pictures from them and the quality is outstanding!  Here’s  an example of a collage we bought.

This is an example of our 12 x 36 collage

If you’re interested in the 12 x 36 collage or a custom collage (I can pretty much make anything) Click Here.  When I received my 12 x 36 photo, the packaging was unreal, it was the best shipped item I have ever received period.  Smugmug really takes care of the photos, which is unheard of ways these days.  So please look below for your daughter’s entire album, I have made a couple of pages to help you in selecting your photos and ways to purchase them easier.
